Bio

Mr. Vitale was elected to the Senate in November 1997. He served as Deputy Majority Leader from 2004-2009.

Senator Vitale previously served as Interim Mayor of Woodbridge in 2006. He is a founding member of the Middlesex County Habitat for Humanity. He is a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, the Mandated Health Benefits Commission, the Foster and Adoptive Family Services Advisory Committee, and the Staffing and Oversight Review Subcommittee of the Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect.

The senator is president of Vitale Sign Corporation, a family-owned business founded in 1950.

He attended public schools in Woodbridge and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School.

Senator Vitale resides in Woodbridge with his wife, Robin, and daughter Alexandra.
