Majority Leader Ruiz’s Statement on Governor Murphy’s State of the State Address

Posted OnJanuary 14, 2025 bymosaic

TRENTON – Senate Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz issued the following statement in response to Governor Phil Murphy’s State of the State address:

“I want to commend Governor Murphy for his commitment to helping New Jersey’s children and families thrive. His dedication to laying a strong foundation for their future success is evident in the strides we’ve made together in expanding access to preschool and childcare, one of the most impactful investments we can make in our communities. Continuing to invest in and expand early childhood programs in the next year will be vital to the long-term success of our state.

“Amid an ever-changing and often uncertain national landscape, we have remained unwavering in our defense of women’s rights. This is at the heart of who we are, and New Jersey will continue to lead the way in protecting and advancing reproductive healthcare and bodily autonomy. We are committed to ensuring that every individual — regardless of where they live or their personal circumstances — has access to the care they deserve, and that their rights are safeguarded.”

“As we look to the year ahead, we will build on this momentum to create a New Jersey that is fairer, more inclusive, and full of opportunity for anyone who seeks it. I am eager to continue working alongside Governor Murphy and my colleagues in the Legislature to make this vision a reality.”
